The Island Christmas Review 2017

What’s the best thing about real Christmas trees? They’re different every year. Yes, some branches are uneven and others downright scraggly. Deck that tree with tinsel and lights, and it’s always the best one ever.

When putting together “The Island Christmas Review,” Patrick Ledwell and Mark Haines look for new selections each year, like that search for a Christmas tree in the woods. The variety show needs to be different, with new branches going off in unexpected directions. And once decked, the whole thing should pull together to capture the spirit of the best season ever.

In “The Island Christmas Review,” Ledwell and Haines take the high-spirited energy of their summer variety show and steer the sled straight into a Christmas wonderland. Mark Haines will delight audiences with his multi-instrumental talents, on fiddle, guitar, and piano. Patrick Ledwell is whipping up a fresh batch of holiday comedy, including tips on how to pick a perfect tree and how to avoid creating horrible handicrafts.

“I get happy jitters when it’s time to get out ‘The Island Christmas Review’ again! You never know what Patrick and I are going to find in that treasure chest,” says Haines. “Be sure we’ll be shining up the fiddle for some favourites, adding an electric twist to the classics, and rendering something completely new.”
