Matt Minglewood

Canadian blues legend, Matt Minglewood returns for one of the first shows of 2014 with a performance on Friday, May 30th. He has become a crowd favourite at the venue and has sold out almost all of his past shows here since 2009. Hailing from Glace Bay, Nova Scotia, blues, folk, country and rock are all musical threads that weave their way through the songs of Minglewood. He has long been regarded as a musical shape-shifter and has tapped into several styles of music to create a sound that has focus and a signature that is truly his own.  His performances not only showcase great music & stories but also that wonderful heartfelt “down to earth bearer of good will and good times” hospitality for which the Maritimes is justly famous.

Throughout the years Minglewood has been honored with numerous accolades, music awards & nominations including 3 gold albums, honorary doctorate from UCB university, entertainer of the year from the Maple Blues Society and last January he was was honored with a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Maple Blues Society in Toronto. He also received a special ECMA 25th Anniversary Award.
