This letter was sent by Sarah from Ontario who spent some time on PEI and had been to a few shows at the venue. What a kind gesture and nice surprise!

Hi Melanie and Kris:
I spent five weeks this summer on PEI and I saw a few shows at Harmony House and LOVED them all. I saw Dave Carroll, Kris/Allan, and Kim Dunn/Ian Sherwood. I was only on the island for a week in the summer of 2009 and I went to see Madison Violet (who I’ve seen a couple times in Ontario and I love!) I think their album was playing almost every time I went to a show there this summer! I wanted to write you to let you know that I really think you have a special place and offer such a great service and access to artists that we wouldn’t necessarily have access to. I always feel like I’ve grown and expanded my consciousness every time I leave there. Not only has every show there been phenomenal, but the service and experience was too! I know what it takes to run a business – all the details, love, hard work and energy that so often goes unseen and unappreciated to make it run smoothly. Every time I’ve been there the pretty blonde girl (I’m sorry, I don’t know her name) at reception greets me with a smile and she remembers my name! Even Alexander has gone out of his way to greet me and make me feel welcome – he’s very sweet.
I only left three weeks ago, but I’m coming back again this weekend for 4 days to do some research into bringing a group with me next summer and running a yoga retreat – (I own a yoga studio in Niagara). I’ll be looking into possibilities where the group can stay, practice yoga, vegetarian friendly restaurants, musicians to accompany our practice, excursions, and evening entertainment. That’s the excuse I’m using anyway – really I just missed the island so much I had to come back! I’d love to be able to include Harmony House somehow as part of the experience for the group next summer. At some point I’d love to speak with you about bringing the group there for a show.
I’ll see you on Sunday night for the Sultans of String show!!
p.s. Kris – during your show you were talking about the piano you had gotten from the family up the road and the story associated with it. I was so touched by that, and the piano looked so much like the one I had played as child/teenager and I was inspired – so when I got home I took the piano out of storage and had it “fixed” up, tuned up, touch ups done to the exterior, etc and it’s being moved into my house later this week. It looks so beautiful! I start piano lessons next week!
Some other kind words from some of our show-goers…
Hi Kris and Melanie. We have now returned to Denmark after 3 weeks of a fantastic tour to Nova Scotia, Cape Breton and PEI, which ended with an unforgettable evening at the Harmony House with Bruce Guthro (July, 2009). We would like to say thank you for this wonderful evening in your beautiful theater. Not just because we are big Bruce fans and like to follow him around Europe solo and with Runrig, but there is a quite incredible sound and feel, we remember not to have experienced similar, it was a great experience! And the beautiful bar in the basement, you have done a great job, congratulations on the beautiful result! I also want to say thank you to Melanie, for your kindness when I visited you the day before. We will keep an eye on your calendar! – Many greetings to all your family from Mogens and Winnie, Denmark
